The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Trišić-Babić received in Sarajevo yesterday a member of the German Bundestag Marielouise Beck. They spoke about the current political situation in BiH.

Beck expressed particular interest in the steps BiH is taking for EU accession and NATO membership, in the “Sejdić-Finci” ruling, upcoming census in BiH and the issue of state and military property.

She expressed her expectation that the political disagreements in BiH would be solved as soon as possible so that BiH could become a part of Euro-Atlantic integration.

She informed Deputy Minister Trišić-Babić of the support that Germany and the Bundestag continue to provide to BiH on its path to the EU.

Trišić-Babić thanked her for the support of Germany and for Beck’s engagement in lending support to BiH.

She informed Beck of the current political events in BiH and expressed expectation that Germany will continue to lend a friendly support to our country on its path to the EU and NATO, although BiH lags in this process in comparison to other countries in the region.

As an important step towards NATO integration, she announced the need to resolve the issue of military property in order to activate MAP.
