humanitarian deminingThe Deputy German Ambassador, Ms. Natalie Kauhter, signed a contract with the organization “ITF Enhancing Human Security“ on 18th September 2015, with which the Federal Republic of Germany makes available funds for the humanitarian demining in the amount of around 1.1 million EUR. With those funds, domestic companies can be engaged for demining activities on the additional areas in all parts of the country.

One contract was already signed with ITF in June 2015. Besides that, the Government of Germany allocated around 500.000 EUR in 2015 to the project partner NPA “Norwegian’s People Aid“, in order to clean the area from mines at the area of Doboj/Usora. In total, the Government of Germany supported the humanitarian demining in 2015 in the amount of around 1.8 million EUR, and thus significantly contributed to the reduction of the risk of mines in B&H. With today’s signing of the financial support, the Federal Republic of Germany continued with a long-standing engagement in the field of the security in B&H. Since 1997, the Government if Germany has already made available around 30 million EUR for the humanitarian demining.
