As of today, a test for coronavirus is mandatory before entering Germany, the German Embassy in BiH announced. The Embassy states that without a negative test, entry into the country can be banned.

Passengers, regardless of nationality, over the age of six, who have stayed in a high-incidence area in the last 10 days before entering Germany must carry proof of a negative SARS-CoV-2 test (PCR test) as soon as they enter Germany, and present it on request to both the competent authorities and the transport company before departure, if required.

In any case, the test must not be older than 48 hours before entering Germany (the time of taking the swab is calculated).

Proof of the test result must be presented on paper or in an electronic document in German, English or French. The test result must be kept for at least ten days after entering Germany.

“In addition, you must digitally register before entering Germany and carry proof of this with you. In principle, in Germany, each federal state has its own quarantine regulations.

Please inform yourself before entering the country of the quarantine / testing regulations in force in the federal state of your destination.

Information on this can be found on the website of the provincial ministries of health and the senate administration.

Regarding the recognition of test types, see information from the Robert-Koch-Institute.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is marked as a risk area in Germany, the German embassy explains.
