GLOBAL YOUTH SUMMIT: Almedina Hamzić will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina in London

Seventeen- year old Almedina Hamzić will be the only representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Changemakers Global Youth Summit, which will take place from the 25th of November till the 1st of December 2012.

Almedina is one of the 60 participants of the conference that were elected out of more than 34000 candidates worldwide. The participants will spend seven days learning about global issues, the United Kingdom and the social entrepreneurship, and will share examples from their experience in project management and key world issues such as human rights, climate changes, lowering poverty and education about HIV/AIDS.
The Global Youth Summit is a part of the British Council Initiative of Global Changemakers, or the global network which includes about 800 entrepreneurs, activists and volunteers from 126 countries worldwide. The participants of the Changemakers network meet to share ideas and good examples, to work individually and in groups on projects which affect directly the lives of people in their communities. Besides that, the representatives of Changemakers network participate in important political and economic events, where they step into roles of layers for crucial rights on the world scene by sharing their experiences and raising awareness about the questions they are dealing with.

The Global Changemakers is an initiative started in   2007, and until now their partners were: World Economic Forum, Clinton Global Initiative, World Humanitarian Forum, various UN initiatives (including the UNESCO program of the Peace Ambassadors, UNFCC and COP) as well as G20 events. The supporters of these events are the queen Rania Al- Abdullah, former president Bill Clinton and actress Emma Thompson.
