Most ski centres in BiH are filled with visitors because of ideal weather conditions, and there are several thousand tourists who visit BiH mountains every day.

January is the month of vacations, so the capacities on the mountains are nearly full, and also because many people chose to spend January enjoying the fresh air and enjoying winter sports.

The largest number of tourists is on Jahorina, Bjelašnica and Igman, and there are many coming from Vlašić primarily from the countries of former Yugoslavia and EU.

Besides skier, sleigh fans, fans of Nordic walking there are also many tourists who enjoy trekking on snow and clear air.

Spokesperson of the Olympic Centre “Jahorina” Zorica Stojanović said that the conditions of skiing on Jahorina are more than good.

“Snow depth is 70 cm, and it is still snowing and it will continue to, which very good, because it means we’ll have more skiing days on Jahorina”, said Stojanović.

When it comes to number of visits, Stojanović said that it is good and that Jahorina has 4 000 visitors per day.

“This year we have many trekkers on Jahorina, especially from Sarajevo, who flee smog and fog and enjoy the fresh air”, added Stojanović

According to her, the largest number of visitors is coming from Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia.

She said that she is so far satisfied with the winter season, and she hopes that it’ll continue so that this season could be better than the last.

PR manager of “ZOI ‘84” Sarajevo Muamera Šehić said that the situation of Igman and Bjelašnica is great, that the snow depth on Babin dol is 40, and on Bjelašnica 80 cm, so the skiing conditions are excellent.

“The number of visitors on our mountains is high, especially during the weekend when we have up to 10 000 people on Igman and Bjelašnica, on Veliko polje and on Malo Polje and on Babin Dol. We have trekkers, sleigh fans, skiers” , added Šehić.

She added that the number of tourists is large because they improved their service, so that everyone can find some activity to enjoy.

“Accommodation capacities are full, and most guests come from Dalmatia, Serbia, Montenegro, and we also have visitors from Ireland, UK, Austria, and Italy”, said Šehić.
