At yesterday’s session, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) adopted one of the main strategic documents – the Development Strategy of the FBiH 2021-2027 year in which four strategic goals were defined.

“Four strategic goals have been defined – accelerated economic development, resource-efficient and sustainable development, prosperous and inclusive social development, and a transparent, efficient and responsible public sector,” said Fadil Novalic, the Prime Minister of the FBiH at the press conference.

As he said, the strategy will determine the work of all governments in the FBiH, practically during the next ten years. For the first time, the strategic document emphasizes active measures whose implementation has a significant effect on macroeconomic indicators in the FBiH.

“By these measures, I consider, first of all, the structural reforms that we started with the Reform Agenda and the document of socio-economic reforms,” Novalic said.

According to the assessments of relevant international and domestic institutions, as the Federal Prime Minister emphasized, the full implementation of active measures brings significant GDP growth, which is the basis for all other progress in our society.

Novalic recalled that the Parliament of the FBiH adopted the Law on Development Planning in 2017, which was done with the help of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) which made us the first in the region to do so. Based on that law, in 2018, the Government of the FBiH decided to draft the development strategy.

According to Novalic, 476 members, workgroups and 1.400 participants of all levels of government and the non-governmental sector participated in the process of drafting the strategy.
