At its session this week, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina approved almost 6.5 million BAM from the Federal budget to support programs and projects in the field of culture. According to the adopted decisions, these funds are intended for the programs of four foundations in the field of culture, as well as support for the projects of cultural societies in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Of this, 5,418,000 BAM refers to the support of the programs of four foundations, namely for cinematography 3,460,000 BAM, publishing 700,000 BAM, and musical, performing and visual arts 658,000 BAM, as well as library activity 600,000 BAM, announced the Office of the Government of the FBiH for public relations.
In addition, BAM 1,050,000 was allocated for financing four cultural societies in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Cultural society Preporod was supported with 500,000 BAM, Napredak with 340,000, Prosvjeta with 150,000 and La Benevolencija with 60,000 BAM.
“I am happy that every year we increase funds for culture in the Federation budget. This was also discussed by the directors of the foundations at the Government session, who also presented the plans for this year. The approved funds are intended for films, books, art and other cultural projects. Especially I am proud because these programs are mostly aimed at our young people, and that is what is our priority,” said the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić.
He also reminded that these funds are not the total allocations for culture from the Budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina this year.
Decisions on the adoption of four spending programs in the amount of 16,750,000 BAM were made by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the beginning of last month. Those funds were allocated from the FBiH Budget to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and intended to support cultural, sports and youth projects and, among other things, the construction of swimming pools and cultural institutions.
“This financing of more than 23 million is an investment in our future, because the development of sports and culture is an additional motivation for our young people. We do this through many other projects, such as securing favorable housing loans for young people and, of course, through the the most important thing, which is the continuation of strengthening our economy, which is a prerequisite for new jobs,” Novalić pointed out.
