Hamas: “The dissolution of the Israeli war cabinet is a victory for the Palestinian resistance”

The Palestinian group Hamas announced late Monday that the Israeli government’s decision to dissolve the war cabinet, which was formed to manage the war in the Gaza Strip, was a victory for the Palestinian resistance.

Izat al-Rishk, a member of the Hamas political bureau, said the armed resistance, led by Hamas’ armed wing the Al-Qassam Brigades, “broke the Zionist (Israeli) war cabinet that was formed eight months ago to dismantle the (Palestinian) resistance.”

Tel Aviv announced on Monday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had dissolved the war cabinet, which was formed on October 11 last year just days after Israel declared war on Gaza.

It comes after opposition leader Beni Gantz resigned from the emergency government earlier this month over disagreements over a post-war strategy for the Gaza Strip.

The war cabinet originally consisted of Netanyahu, Gantz, Defense Minister Yoav Galant, Ron Dermer, Gadi Eisenkot and the leader of the “Shas” party Arjeh Deri.

In the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 37,347 Palestinians were killed and 85,372 people were wounded.

Israel has been accused of genocide before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which in its latest ruling ordered Tel Aviv to immediately suspend the operation in Rafah, where more than a million Palestinians have sought refuge from the war, AA writes.
