Haris Pasovic, the director of East-West Center Sarajevo, was appointed as the artistic director of the Italian artistic festival “Mittelfest”. The festival takes place in Cividale, a medieval town in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.

Mittelfest represents the most important range in the theater, classical and contemporary music, ballet and contemporary dance, from Italy, Germany, Austria, Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Some of the former directors of this festival were famous Italian writer and director Giorgio Pressburger and Hungarian director George Tabori.

“I am very happy about the opportunity to work with the excellent, strong and creative people from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Together, we will create a new Mittelfest, with the aim for it to become one of the most important art festivals in Europe,” stated Pasovic.

He will continue performing his duties as the director of East-West Center as well as the teaching professor at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo.
