Two helicopters of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina are operating in the area of Boracko Lake, it was confirmed for BHRT. They also said that one of the helicopters will go to the Citluk region to the Blizanci settlement, where the fire is also being extinguished.

The fire in the area of Boracko Lake is active. Fortunately, two helicopters of the Armed Forces came to the rescue and are currently working on extinguishing the fire, Husein Hodzic, from Civil Protection Konjic, told BHRT.

“The fire has affected large areas and a lot of it is in inaccessible steep terrain, but we hope that with the cooperation of the Armed Forces, with our firefighters, the workers of the Prenj Forestry, we will be able to localize this fire together. In addition to these activities, we are currently working on cutting a parts of forest, so they could enter part of the fire with fire engines and other equipment. Overall, the situation is not good yet, the fire is not yet under control, considering the structure of the terrain where it is extinguished, but we are doing our best, so we will see during the day how effective we will be. The good thing is that currently no buildings and houses are threatened, teams are on the ground and doing their best to bring this fire under control.”

Also, part of the fire has already entered an area that is considered to be mined, and during the night and morning hours, detonations and explosions were heard, so that part of the fire cannot be extinguished.

“What is important is that we must take care that our colleagues are always sure that they do not enter risky areas, so the situation is complex, it is very difficult to control the aid. But here we have help from the Armed Forces…”, he said.
