museumOn the occasion of the International Archives Day, the Historical Archives of Sarajevo will open its doors to citizens and the media on the 9th of June, and they will present interesting segments of archives that are located in archival funds in the reading room, as announced from the Historical Archives.

International Archives Day is marked as a unique opportunity for the world archival community to draw public attention on their work, written heritage, character and role in society, as the wider community is often not aware of the importance of the archives.

The importance of “Open Doors of Archive” is that all interested citizens, as well as the media, can visit the Archives, get informed about its work, materials in its possession and its use.

Visitors of Archive will have the opportunity on Thursday to take a look at the valuable examples of the Oriental Collection, a collection of photographs which covers the period from 1878 to 1970 and includes some of the earliest photographs, Collection Varia and archival funds from the 19th and 20th centuries.
