B&H citizens have more than 9.5 billion BAM of term funds in banks. We were interested to find out how many of our citizens are saving. We sent questions to the Central Bank, both entity agencies, and contacted the Association of Banks, but there was no answer.
The fact is that everyone is saving a little bit, state experts, but you can see the gap between rich and poor in these savings. Some people are saving hundreds, some thousands or even millions, while others, unfortunately, are saving on food.
All these funds could be used for strengthening of the economy, but it is impossible until a stable system of stock exchanges is set, or until the system creates a safe investment of the saved money, experts added.
