On Monday, the 16th of November, the Republic of Serbia will pay 2 million EUR to the Municipality of Srebrenica, which was one of the most developed municipalities in B&H before the war.
Adviser of the Mayor of Srebrenica for the economy and development Cazim Salimovic said for Tanjug that this municipality has big plans for the future and that these 5 million EUR from Serbia, 3 of which will be provided through future joint projects, will help them a lot.
Salimovic added that there is a possibility that part of the funds from the Government of Serbia will be used for launching of production in the real sector, especially the wood industry, while there will be differences in specific infrastructure projects.
According to him, the third and the most important area, is the mineral water Guber, for which it is said that is helping in the treatment of anemia. He reminded that there was spa in Srebrenica which was achieving over 100,000 overnight stays before the war.
Advisor Mayor of Srebrenica for the economy and development added that the improvement of the situation in the field of agriculture and tourism is planned as well. When it comes to the agricultural development, special attention is paid to the cultivation of berry fruits, while, when it comes to tourism, they see the opportunity in the construction of hotels and recreational facilities on the Drina River and the Zvornik Lake.
Srebrenica 2015 Investment Development Conference was held last week in the municipality of Srebrenica, which has been attended by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, the President and Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and Zeljka Cvijanovic, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B&H Denis Zvizdic, as well as numerous businessmen from Serbia and Republika Srpska.
