The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina today appointed Hrvoje Čabrajić as Special Deputy Chief Federal Prosecutor of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of the FBiH – Special Department of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Corruption, Organized and Intercantonal Crime.

Hrvoje Čabrajić was born in Vareš. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Sarajevo in 2007. He passed the bar exam in 2012. By decision of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in May 2016, he was appointed Prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Sarajevo Canton.

Pavo Radoš and Samir Selimović were also in the running for the Special Deputy Chief Federal Prosecutor of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of the FBiH.

The Federal Parliament adopted the Law on Combating Corruption and Organized Crime in the FBiH 10 years ago, which provided for the establishment of the aforementioned department.

The current Federal Government announced the formation of this department of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office as one of its priorities.

The process itself was accompanied by a number of challenges, such as the choice of headquarters and different views on how the department should ultimately function.

The Federal Government had previously adopted a conclusion determining that the department of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office would be located in the former Privredna Banka building in downtown Sarajevo.
