The Prime Minister of the FB&H Nermin Nikšić and the FB&H Minister of Finance Ante Krajina, with their colleagues, met with a delegation today of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with Head of the IMF Ron van Rooden. The IMF is on a five-day visit to B&H for the regular fourth stand-by arrangement.
Congratulating the FB&H government for its successful fourth review, which was approved by the IMF Steering Board, Van Rooden stressed the need for a budget of B&H and both entities for 2014 to be adopted at the beginning of December, and with this fact the IMF Steering Board would be familiar with the last year’s session at the end of that month.
It was pointed out that this was the first time after the war that the budget for next year was sent to the FB&H Parliament for a declaration more than one moth before the deadline for its adoption.
The FB&H Prime Minister said that the draft budget for the FB&H for 2014 was sent to parliamentary procedure, and that the House of Representatives should decide on it by 21 November, instead of, as was earlier promised, from 12-13 November of this year.
Also, the Prime Minister of the FB&H spoke to his guests about the fact that the government, in parliamentary procedure in the form of a draft or proposal, submitted two sets of eight laws whose common goal is, on the one hand, to establish a more favorable business environment, and on the other hand, the fight against corruption and organized crime.
During today’s meeting, held at the headquarters of the FB&H government in Sarajevo, they spoke about the possibility of extending the stand-by arrangement.
