Revenues from indirect taxes in the first two months of 2024 amounted to one billion and 757 million BAM and are higher by 187 million BAM or 11.9% compared to the same period in 2023, when they amounted to 1 billion and 570 million BAM.

After the ITA returned 325 million BAM of VAT refunds to the economy in the first two months of 2024, the net collected revenues that were distributed to beneficiaries in the first two months of 2024, namely the state, the entities and the Brčko District, amounted to 1 billion and 432 million BAM and are higher by 231 million BAM compared to the income that users received from the Single Account for the same period in 2023.

An amount of 167 million BAM has been allocated for the financing of state institutions in the first two months of 2024. All surplus income from indirect taxes ended up in entity coffers and Brčko District. Thus, the Federation of BiH received 772 million BAM, the Republika Srpska 431 million BAM, and the Brčko District 43 million BAM.

Based on the special toll for the construction of highways and the construction and reconstruction of other roads (0.25 BAM), the Federation of BiH received an additional 35.9 million BAM, the Republika Srpska 23.7 million BAM and the Brčko District 1.2 million BAM. The difference represents a reserve in a separate account for tolls in the amount of 0.25 BAM, BHRT writes.
