The couple Denisa and Samir Mesan from Bugojno, after years they spent abroad, decided to return to their home town and started their own bakery that gained its regular buyers and the trust of many residents of the Municipality of Bugojno.

“It was difficult in the beginning. We invested our money, and we were aware of the risk that starting a new business brings, but luckily, our estimation was good. You cannot become rich overnight but you can make a solid earning,” stated Denisa.

She also added that they never regretted the decision to return to Bugojno and start their own business.

She stated that they are using recipes of the Norwegian bakeries in their work, since they lived in that country in the period from 2001 to 2013.

“My husband used to travel 120 kilometers to get to his workplace and I travelled 80 kilometers in the opposite direction. And then, after the month is over and you pay everything you need, you realize that you could live very well in your own country and that you only need to work very hard. People think that the life in the West will be a real dream, but that is not the truth,” said Denisa.

“We focused on homemade production of new types of bread, which do not contain any kind of chemicals. We have homemade, Bavarian and mountain bread, and they are very requested. We care about the quality, and not the quantity of bread that we produce.”

She also noted that work in a bakery requires a lot of effort and it is very demanding, and due to their constant obligations, there is not much time left to deal with some other stuff.
