Israel: “Soldiers – leave Cyprus, Slovenia, and the Netherlands immediately”

The Israeli military has reportedly warned around thirty soldiers and officers who fought in the Gaza Strip to avoid traveling abroad after pro-Palestinian groups filed war crimes charges against them.

At least eight of them, who had traveled to Cyprus, Slovenia, and the Netherlands, were instructed to leave those countries immediately due to fears they could be arrested, according to the Israeli media.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) do not currently ban soldiers from traveling abroad but assess the risks for those who served in Gaza before approving travel requests.

Since the start of the war, the military has urged soldiers not to share footage of their activities during the fighting in Gaza on social media to prevent such material from being used against them in potential criminal investigations in other countries.

Journalists accompanying soldiers in Gaza were also asked to blur soldiers’ faces in their reports for the same reason.

Despite these warnings, soldiers continue to post videos and photos on their personal social media accounts, including content showing violations of international law.
