Italy Joins in Condemnation of Dodik: Tajani Warns His Actions Are Destabilizing BiH

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has expressed concern over the actions of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, which, according to him, could threaten the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The actions of the President of Republika Srpska Dodik risk undermining the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. We call on the authorities in BiH to engage in dialogue and avoid escalations that lead to crisis situations. We continue to work, also thanks to the presence of our military contingent, for the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans,” Tajani said.

Recall that a few days ago, the President of Republika Srpska Milorad signed decrees in Banja Luka on the promulgation of laws prohibiting the activities of the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH (HJPC) on the territory of this entity.

These laws were adopted on February 27 by the National Assembly of the RS at a special session, and after signing the decree, they were published in the Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska. Acting Director of the Official Gazette of the RS Miloš Lukić confirmed that the laws on the HJPC of the RS, the law on the non-application of laws and the prohibition of the activities of extra-constitutional institutions of BiH, the law on a special register and the publicity of the work of non-profit organizations, as well as the law amending the Criminal Code of the Republika Srpska, have been published.

Yesterday, the Constitutional Court of BiH put the laws temporarily out of force.
