Joan Baez held an Emotional Concert in her beloved Sarajevo

One of the most famous American singers, Joan Baez, held an emotional concert within her farewell tour “Fare Thee Well” in the BKC.

“It feels really special to be in Sarajevo again,” said Joan at the beginning of the concert, after which audience welcomed her with great applause.

She published more than 30 albums in her rich musical career, and she chose works and songs that are important for her for this concert.

The most emotional part of the two-hour concert was her performance of Kemal Monteno’s song “Sarajevo, my love”, which the audience sang together with Joan.

This was the third time for her to visit Sarajevo. She visited the capital city of BiH for the first time in April 1993, during the siege of Sarajevo, when she held a humanitarian concert in the Imperial Cinema as the sign of her support to people of Sarajevo. She was the first star to visit Sarajevo back then. She performed for the second time in Sarajevo back in 2008.

Joan stated earlier that she is emotionally connected to Sarajevo and that she was glad to visit Sarajevo back in 1993 and helped its people in some way.
