Komsic: Our thoughts are with the People of friendly Germany

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zeljko Komsic sent a telegram of condolences to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany today on the occasion of natural disasters that hit that country.

“Allow me to express my deepest condolences to you and your people, in this difficult moment, on the occasion of the tragedy that has befallen your country. Our thoughts are with you and the people of friendly country- the Federal Republic of Germany,” Komsic wrote.

He conveyed the expressions of solidarity and readiness of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and BiH institutions to offer every form of support and assistance.

German emergency responders were on Friday still searching for hundreds of missing people after the worst floods in living memory killed 103 people in the country’s west, France24 writes.

“I fear that we will only see the full extent of the disaster in the coming days,” Chancellor Angela Merkel said from Washington, where she met with President Joe Biden.

Neighbouring Belgium counted at least 18 dead, while Luxembourg and the Netherlands were also severely affected by the torrents of water, with thousands evacuated in the city of Maastricht.

But Germany’s toll was by far the highest at 103, and likely to rise with large numbers of people still missing in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, the hardest-hit states.
