The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, spoke today in Sarajevo with the President of Hungary, Katalin Novak, about the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the further improvement of bilateral relations.

Chairperson Krišto pointed out that the Council of Ministers of BiH is aware of the challenges facing our country, but it is determined and dedicated to achieving the 8+1 conditions, ie 14 key priorities on the way to membership in the European Union (EU). She emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina expects to receive an exact date from Brussels for the opening of negotiations in March.

Kristo thanked President Novak for the support that friendly Hungary provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European journey.

She expressed her belief that during the presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2024, Hungary will continue to provide support to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire region in the continuation of the enlargement process.

The interlocutors exchanged opinions on ways to strengthen economic and cooperation in other areas, which is in the mutual interest of the two countries, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

As part of her official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungarian President Katalin Novak met today with members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić, Denis Bećirović and Željka Cvijanović.
