Our best swimmer Lana Pudar returned to Sarajevo after the great success she achieved at the World Championships in Qatar, where she won a bronze medal in the 200-meter butterfly.

Pudar was welcomed at the Sarajevo airport by her family, friends and a large number of citizens who, together with her, celebrated a historic moment for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She won a bronze medal in the 200m breaststroke final at the World Championships in Doha. Mostarka swam in a time of 2.07.92 minutes.

Pudar stated that she is very satisfied with the result achieved at the World Championship and the time she swam due to the fact that she was injured.

“Injuries happen, but it’s good that there was nothing serious with me. I was able to repair it quickly, so this time is really good. I’m still tired, I didn’t even manage to sleep. I really can’t describe that feeling of happiness in words. Here and yesterday when I saw the result, it really means a lot to me and my country, and the large number of people, our fans who were there, contributes to that feeling even more,” said Pudar.

Pudar’s return to his homeland caused a lot of public attention, because it is the biggest success in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina. swimming.

“I was thinking about what the coach was telling me, what I should do. I also saw a large number of people in the audience and I was glad about that, I tried my best. This is a wind at my back, even if we take into account that some difficulties, this is a really good time. There will be many more preparations and trainings, so I know that I am on the right path and that I have the opportunity to do very good things,” said the great BiH swimmer.

She pointed out at the end that she wants to make the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina proud, adding that this motivates her a lot in her work and sacrifice.

The coach from Lana’s team, Damir Đedović, said that the young girl from Mostar deserved this success because she prepared hard.

“I’m happy for her, she deserved this. She worked hard, she got the most out of it, and for me this is my favorite medal she’s won so far. This is a big event, the biggest after the Olympic Games,” said Đedović.

He added that Pudar achieved great results primarily through hard work.

“We are aware that Lana can do more, but she needs a clear head, quality work and a lot of sacrifice, and we emphasize that. There is a lot of work behind her and in front of her. I hope that there will be no injuries in the coming period, and it is up to us to prepare yourself as best as possible. We are all aware that she can do a lot. Lana is a great worker, a girl who understands and respects the work process. She is aware that she has achieved all this through very hard work and that there are no shortcuts.”

Coach Goran Grahovac pointed out that Pudar trained diligently and hard so that, as he said, she could have won the gold “if there were still those few meters”.

In this same discipline, Pudar won the title of European senior champion in Rome in 2022, while at the World Championship in Fukuoka in 2023, she won fourth place.

The girl from Mostar, who recently turned 18, has as many as 20 medals from the biggest competitions in her possession.

Lana Pudar will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Olympic Games in Paris this year, BHRT writes.
