The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today handed down a first-instance verdict to lawyer Vasvija Vidović, sentencing her to one year in prison. The verdict is subject to appeal.

Vidović is charged with having committed the criminal offense of preventing the production of evidence under Article 236, paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by the actions described in detail in the indictment.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has requested that Vidović be punished for preventing the production of evidence and that she be banned from practicing law for three years.

She is also charged with having hidden the phone of the then President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ranko Debevac, after he was detained, Fena writes.
