Lumiwings has suspended all operations from the Tuzla International Airport

The airline Lumiwings has suspended all operations from the International Airport in Tuzla, it was confirmed for Klix.ba. As they learn, the reason lies in the poor occupancy of the planes, that is, the economic unjustification of the cooperation, which could certainly be completely terminated.

In December of last year, the Greek airline Lumiwings received a subsidy from the Government of Tuzla Canton in the amount of two and a half million convertible marks, after which business was officially established with the International Airport in Tuzla.

The mentioned amount of money was intended to cover possible losses that the airline would incur, and as Klix.ba learns, the money has already been fully spent for economic compensation.

Namely, as they have learned, the money was used to cover costs due to the extremely poor response of passengers, that is, rather low occupancy of the plane, which was especially pronounced in January and February of this year.

Accordingly, Lumiwings made a decision to suspend all previously announced routes until March 31 of this year. They refer to Stockholm, Halmstad, Maastricht, Saarbrucken and Esbjerg. The original plan was to reduce the number of weekly operations at these destinations from two to one, but in the end a more rigorous decision was made.

Also, the planned flights to Istanbul were suspended a little earlier, and the first plane to the Turkish capital was officially supposed to take off on March 5 this year.
