“Mali Svijet“ Is The Best ‘Zoom Rights’ Film for Youth

pravo_ljudski“Mali svjet“ directed by Marcel Barrera is the best Zoom Rights film for youth while Edna Karasalihović is the winner of the contest “Imam Priču“ ( I have a story) with her photo-essay  “Bolnica na kraju grada“( The hospital at the end of the city).

According to the jury, the film „Anton je ovdje“( Anton is here), directed by Lyubov Arkus received the jury’s special award. The second prize at the photo contest went to Armin Graca for the photo-essay about Roma family Osmanović, and third price went to Zlatan Faki, who through the photo-essay showed the success of a water polo team. The jury’s special award went to Haris Begić for the photo-essay on Srebrenica.

Jean Pierre Biebuyck , the Chief of Belgium Diplomacy in Sarajevo announced the decision for the Best ‘Zoom Rights’ Film. According to the jury, the film „Mali svijet“ carries a universal message that is not necessarily connected to people with disabilities but with everyone that faces difficulties in life.

“Thank you all who helped us make this little film that we have done with a small budget turn out to be something big!“, said Marcel Barrera, emphasizing that he believes that the film received an award due to the message that it contains.

The film gives the message that we should not consider our problems as obstacles, but to simply deal with them in a positive way and to place our goal as something that is achievable regardless of the circumstances.

The award wining film “Mali svijet“ will be screened tonight at 21:00 and the film will close the youth program ‘Zoom Rights’. The official program of the 8th Human Rights Film Festival starts on 13 November and the detailed program is available on http://www.pravoljudski.org.
