Managers in Prague earn the most, at which Place is Sarajevo?

moneyInternational Service for the research of salaries Paylab analyzed the salaries of managers over the past year in the following nine countries in Central and Eastern Europe: Serbia, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Latvia, BiH, Estonia, Lithuania and Croatia. The highest salaries have top managers in Prague and Bratislava, while the lowest paid are managers from Baltic countries.

Employees in capital cities have higher gross salary than employees in the rest of the country. The highest salaries are in Bratislava, where the average monthly gross salary is 1,400 EUR. Bratislava generally has the greatest difference in the salaries of employees in the capital compared to employees in the rest of the country (20%). Significant differences also exist in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary and BiH, where difference between the gross salaries in the capital cities compared to the rest of the country is between 15 and 18%. The smallest difference is in the Baltic capitals Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius, where employees in capital cities earn only 7 % more than in the rest of the country.

Average monthly gross salaries of managers (including bonuses) are highest in Prague, and amount to 3,980 EUR. This is on average three times higher than the average salary that can be earned in Prague. Next is Bratislava, where managers earn 3,702 EUR, or six times more than employees with average salary in this city.

In the third place is Zagreb with an average of 3.131 EUR of gross salary, which is the highest average salary of managers in the Balkan region. At the same time, this is roughly 2.5 times higher salary than the average salary in Zagreb.

  • Bratislava – 1403 EUR
  • Prague – 1345 EUR
  • Budapest -1231 EUR
  • Zagreb -1226 EUR
  • Tallinn – 1156 EUR
  • Sarajevo – 1051 EUR
  • Vilnius – 920 EUR
  • Riga – 894 EUR
  • Belgrade – 736 EUR

Average gross salaries of top managers:

  • Prague – 3980 EUR
  • Bratislava – 3702 EUR
  • Zagreb – 3131 EUR
  • Budapest – 3036 EUR
  • Sarajevo – 2525 EUR
  • Tallinn – 2011 EUR
  • Belgrade – 1828 EUR
  • Riga – 1610 EUR
  • Vilnius – 1567 EUR

The lowest salaries have top managers in Vilnius, Lithuania, with an average of 1,567 EUR. The Baltic countries generally have the smallest difference in the salaries of top executives and the average salary in the capital cities: manager’s salary is only 1.7 times higher than the average salary of each capital city. Paylab included the salaries of the nine major cities in Central and Eastern Europe in their study: Belgrade ( Serbia), Bratislava (Slovakia), Budapest (Hungary), Prague (Czech Republic), Riga (Latvia), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Tallinn (Estonia), Vilnius (Lithuania) and Zagreb (Croatia).
