”Today’s delivery of “Bell Huey II” helicopters, financed with the support of the United States (U.S.) Government will significantly improve the capacities and capabilities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), especially in the air force segment, ” the Chief of Staff of the AFBiH, Colonel General Senad Masovic, said yesterday.

These are multifunctional aircraft that will be primarily used for military activities.

”Also, they can be used to support civilian structures when it comes to saving human lives and goods and putting out fires. AFBiH will have the capacity to be constantly available to their state, ” Masovic added.

He stressed that the training of pilots has already been completed, followed by a period of intensive additional training of flight staff.

”This is the most significant step in the process of modernization of the AFBiH, but it represents only the beginning of that process, through the support of the U.S. Government and our other partners. We expect the delivery of other equipment in the very near future. Through the U.S. support program, we have decided to continue the procurement of helicopters, so we expect the process of delivery of other helicopters of the AFBiH to begin, ” Colonel General Senad Masovic pointed out.
