At the confluence of the rivers Rakitnica and Praca in the village of Sastavci near Rogatica, there was a mass death of fish during spawning by releasing the accumulated water from the lake, it was announced today from this municipality.
The statement states that the discharge of the reservoir, which took place on October 1, was not carried out in accordance with the regulations, nor was it announced to the competent fishing association.
The investigation was conducted by municipal inspectors and the police, after which the measures prescribed by law will be taken.
“The mouth of these rivers was usurped a few years ago by the construction of an accumulation lake for the mini-hydroelectric power plant ‘Dub’, and the careless construction of the reservoir left permanent consequences on the ends of these rivers, as well as on the living world in and around them.”
