Camil Durakovic

The Mayor of Srebrenica, Camil Durakovic, said that he is sure that incident was not caused by people of Srebrenica who tried their best to keep their dignity.

“Unfortunately, we are often a subject of a manipulation of radical or hooligan groups that are using our sadness on this sacred place to get their story”, said Durakovic.

Durakovic said that they are not a part of it and that they are distancing themselves from an incident and the attack on Vucic was condemned by the Organizing Committee that worked on a preparations for the commemoration.

Durakovic reminded that he was also attacked with a bottle few years ago at the funeral in Potocari.

Durakovic added that he hopes that Vucic will understand the situation because he talked with mother Munira Subasic who gave them the Srebrenica flower and who was the only legitimate person who could talk in the name of Srebrenica victims and added that there were also numerous other mothers who welcomed Vucic.

“On this occasion, I want to sincerely apologize for all to the Prime Minister Vucic. I apologize to him personally no matter what kind of a person is he, which statements he gave and how much emotion there was”, said Durakovic.

He added that they are concerned for people of Srebrenica because they will stay in RS while those who made incidents today have already left Srebrenica.

“Those who made the incident have already passed to Kladanj in their buses. Those who are staying here will have to explain what some people who came there did in our name. I am disappointed as a man, father and the mayor of this municipality”, said Durakovic.

Durakovic said that this incident bothers Bosniaks the most.
