OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić received in Sarajevo today the Ambassador of Bulgaria to BiH Angel Angelov. Komšić congratulated the Ambassador on his new appointment.

Mayor Komšić took the opportunity to say that Bulgaria is the first country that genuinely recognized BiH.

Speaking on the progress of bilateral cooperation, the Mayor expressed interest in connecting Sarajevo and Sofia with the realization of projects through IPA funds with the goal to improve the quality of life of the citizens, especially when it comes to infrastructure.

Ambassador Angelov proposed that these two cities become twin cities, which would open the opportunity to realize selected projects through ‘twin’ funds of the EU.

Ambassador Angelov expressed interest that Bulgaria become included in the project “Sarajevo 2014”, which would mark 100 years from the beginning of the First World War and 30 years since the XiV Winter Olympics in our city.

At the end it was agreed that, in organization of the city of Sarajevo, Ambassador Angelov will plant a tree in the Avenue of Ambassadors on Dariva.
