A meeting of NATO defense ministers began in Brussels yesterday morning, where a number of important issues werediscussed, including the war between Russia and Ukraine and the situation in Kosovo.

The meeting at the headquarters of the Alliance was chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who addressed journalists at the entrance to the building together with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, who also arrived at the ministerial meeting without prior notice.

“Your leadership, the courage of the Ukrainian military forces and the determination of the Ukrainian people continue to impress and inspire us all and we will be with you to support Ukraine as it is important for all of NATO. NATO defense ministers will talk today and tomorrow. We will of course also talk about Ukraine. The Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine will also meet where we will mobilize support and coordinate our military support for Ukraine. There will also be a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council, which was established to further strengthen our relationship and help Ukraine move towards NATO membership,” Stoltenberg noted yesterday.

He pointed out that a number of important issues will be discussed on Thursday, including the presence of NATO forces in Kosovo.

“Tomorrow we will discuss issues of deterrence and defense. We will also discuss NATO missions and operations, including our presence in Kosovo. We have seen growing tensions there and it is important that NATO has increased its presence in Kosovo,” Stoltenberg said yesterday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his gratitude to Stoltenberg for his support.

“You were two weeks ago in Kyiv. I think it was a very important meeting. We talked about supporting Ukraine and how to overcome the upcoming winter. This is one of the biggest challenges for us. We are preparing and now we need the support of these leaders and that’s why we here today. We will talk about priorities and how to drive Russia out of our territory. It is important that you know that you are not alone. Unity is very important,” Zelenski said yesterday, emphasizing the importance of the air defense system.

Stoltenberg repeated that they met in Brussels to mobilize even greater support for Ukraine, Federalna reports.
