The US government, through the US Agency for International Development (USAID) announces the visit of Paige Alexander, the Assistant Administrator of USAID for Europe and Eurasia, Patricie Rader, Deputy Assistant Administrator for USAID, Marie A. Longhi, Deputy Coordinator for Europe and Eurasia and the Directors of the USAID Missions from Serbia, Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo.
Together with David Barth, Director of USAID in B&H, these high officials of the US government will participate in a Balkan conference with directors of USAID Missions in these countries in Sarajevo from 23-24 September. There will be a panel discussion on best practices in the region and opportunities for further cooperation.
During the two-day visit to B&H, high US officials will meet with the B&H Ministry of Foreign Affairs, local partners in the implementation of the project and civil society representatives. They will also meet with teams of the US Embassy and USAID B&H, and will participate in the first agreement on direct financing between USAID and B&H state institutions. This agreement will ensure the direct assistance to the B&H Ministry of Security in the fight against human trafficking in B&H.
To date, the US government has donated around 1,6 billion dollars in assistance to the economic, democratic and social progress of B&H through UAID, announced USAID B&H.
