Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić received the Ambassador of the United States of America Michael Murphy.

The two officials discussed activities for the formation of the government in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a special emphasis on the BiH entity Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on based on the decisions of the High Representative.

“In this regard, the BiH Presidency member Komšić explained the reasons for submitting a request for constitutional review of the High Representative’s decisions made after the general elections, especially emphasizing that he supports the OHR institution within its competencies. He also pointed out that, when the OHR decisions become part of the legal system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, they become subject to possible requests for constitutionality assessment,” it is stated.

The interlocutors also discussed the path of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the framework of Euro-Atlantic integration, that is, the possible candidate status of Bosnia and Herzegovina for membership in the European Union, as well as the continuation of reforms related to NATO integration.

The common expectation was expressed that the results of the elections will be implemented and that the authorities will be formed within the deadlines established by law, stated the BiH Presidency.
