The Duty Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been informed by the Border Police that a suspected member of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who is charged with smuggling of one person from the territory of Montenegro to Bosnia and Herzegovina, was deprived of liberty.

The aforementioned suspect is charged with taking part, because of his good knowledge of the terrain and border areas, in the smuggling and illegal crossing of the border of a citizen of Montenegro, who was smuggled to Bosnia and Herzegovina while measures of restrictive movement of persons across the border were in place.

The suspect is charged with smuggling a Montenegrin citizen to Bosnia and Herzegovina while restrictive measures related to crossing the state border were in place, due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Police officers of the Border Police discovered a vehicle driven by the suspect, with a Montenegrin citizen in it, after which the suspect was deprived of liberty and the foreign citizen was handed over to the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A detailed police report on the committed criminal offence will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
