Minic: New Republika Srpska Government by next Wednesday

Savo Minić, who was appointed as the Prime Minister-designate of the new Republika Srpska government by Milorad Dodik, who was stripped of his mandate as President of Republika Srpska by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has held consultations with representatives of the parties that make up the ruling majority in Republika Srpska (SNSD, SP, NPS, DNS, Demos, SPS, and United Srpska). He said that the consultations would be completed by Friday, August 29, and that he would then request a session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, and that he believes that the new government would be formed by next Wednesday (September 3) at the latest.

Minić stated that the first day of consultations passed in an extremely fair and good atmosphere.

“The challenge is to be the Prime Minister-designate. The most important thing is to have the support of the coalition, not only for what will be on the agenda, but also for all the measures that will be taken in the coming period. The new ones will be the alimony fund, the work on public enterprises. I am aware that the deadline of one year is short, but we must work and fulfill our goals,” said Minić.

According to him, the government has distanced itself from the people.

“That is a fact, especially the ministers. We will publish a plan for holding all government sessions in cities and municipalities, in Bijeljina, Trebinje, Milići, my Šamac, etc. The ministers will enter every village, to find out what is essentially important for every person,” said Minić.

As he said, he did not discuss new names in the government with his coalition partners.

“The coalition proposes names, I am not the one who can choose. They give names and we agree on the names that are there,” said Minić, adding that all coalition partners will be in the government.

“We are forming a concentration government. The entry of the SPS into the government does not mean that anyone will lose their place in the government,” he said.

When asked about the statements that this government lacks legitimacy and legal election, he stated “that they should be let go and that he will do his job.”

“Let them do their speculation,” he said.
