borge brendeMinister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway Børge Brende visited BiH again after 13 years. He had his first meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Igor Crnadak.

After the meeting in premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both ministers emphasized strong friendship between the two countries, and Norwegian Minister said that his country supports BiH on its path towards the European Union.

“We believe that the presence of EU in South East Europe is crucial and that EU will play an important role here. That’s why we hope that BiH will receive candidate status in this community very soon,” said Brenda.

He also announced the continuation of Norwegian investment in BiH.

“More than 17,000 BH citizens live in Norway, it is a great diaspora, and they are well integrated and very hard working”, praised Minister Brenda citizens of BH origin.

For the end, he expressed the hope for the continuation of the “non-polarization of political relations”.

Minister Crnadak said that relations between BiH and Norway are very good and with no outstanding issues and they discussed the situation in Southeast Europe, the stability in the region, Brussels conversations between Belgrade and Pristina, relations with NATO and bilateral relations.

“It is interesting that our countries have a surplus in foreign trade, but a very low intensity in the exchange – 15 million EUR for the whole last year. We agreed to push this stuff forward,” said Crnadak and thanked Norwegians for the rapid and generous support after floods in 2014.
