Minister Jusko talked with the Delegation of EBRD about Corridor 5C and the Fast Road Belgrade – Sarajevo

juskoMinister of Communications and Transport of BiH Ismir Jusko with his associates talked with the delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), led by the Director for the Western Balkans Holger Muent.

At the meeting was emphasized the step forward that BiH has made with the adoption of the Framework Transport Strategy, which opened the possibility for BiH to use funds of international financial institutions, including the EBRD.

The focus of the conversation was on the importance of Corridor 5C that represents the connection of BiH with neighboring countries, the importance of implementation of soft measures, the digitization process, and the project of fast road Belgrade – Sarajevo.

Representatives of the Ministry introduced the delegation of the EBRD on the activities in the digitization process, noting that an international tender will be announced in the upcoming period. Also, in the context of implementing soft measures, the progress of BiH has been stated in the activities that are related to negotiations between BiH and Croatia regarding border crossings on the Corridor 5C for rail traffic.

Finally, the EBRD welcomed activities regarding the traffic that BiH is implementing, and on the basis of which are assigned grant funds based on applications of BiH to the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF).

Projects that are nominated through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) 17th round technical assistance (TA), which are located on the Corridor 5C are: Mostar South – Buna, Nemila – Zenica North and financial management and control of the project on the Corridor 5C, which includes Svilaj – Odzak, border crossing Svilaj and Svilaj Bridge.
