Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektic held a series of meetings with members of the British House of Lords after meeting with the highest officials of the British Government and security agencies.

Among others, Minister Mektic talked with Lord Howell, Lord Balafe and Baroness Arminka Helic.

They discussed topics and issues related to the security sector that were also noted in the report to the Committee of Lords after their last visit to BiH. They also especially noted the challenges and the need for strengthening of the fight against corruption in BiH, as well as strengthening of a joint fight against terrorism.

Moreover, they discussed topics that are important for the preparation of the Summit of Western Balkans, which will take place in London in July. The mapping of long-term security and political commitment of the region regarding the accession to the EU was also planned for that meeting.

Minister Mektic completed a very successful visit to the UK yesterday, and its main aim was the improvement of bilateral relations between these two countries in the security sector.
