At the Summit in Trieste, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Sarovic emphasized that BiH has great potential, and that large-scale programs and large investment projects are prepared in the sectors of energy, transport, and tourism but that they require significant investments since BiH cannot afford them by itself.

Speaking on a business forum that is aimed at introducing the Western Balkan countries with potential investors for large infrastructure projects, Minister Sarovic presented all advantages and opportunities for investing in BiH, including: favorable geographic position and natural resources, long tradition of industrial production, educated and qualified labor force, the placement of BH products free-of-charge to more than 50 million consumers on the basis of  the Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA and EFTA), as well as additional 80 million consumers.

From the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH was stated that certain sectors were particularly noted as attractive for investment, including energy sector, agricultural and food sector, the sector of tourism, wood processing and metal processing sector, IT sector, textile and leather sector, the sector for manufacturing of automotive parts and civil engineering.

Together with the delegation of BiH, Minister Sarovic is participating in the Summit on Western Balkans 2017, which is held in the Italian Trieste, within the framework of the Berlin Process. The topics of this year’s meeting of leaders of the Western Balkans are the establishment of a common market of Balkan, the strengthening of regional cooperation and the improvement and expansion of infrastructure and energy services of this region.

Minister Sarovic met with Carl Calenda, the Minister of Economic Development of Italy and other ministers of the Western Balkans in a working meeting that was held yesterday in the afternoon hours.
