In the first half of 2016, BiH economy is recording a real growth of over two percent, it was stated in the macroeconomic analysis of the Directorate for Economic Planning.
After the economic activity in the first quarter improved by 2.1 percent in comparison with the same period last year, it seems like this trend somewhat accelerated in the second quarter. Primary indicators of that are increasingly faster growth of export of goods, as well as the import of goods, which indicates the movement of domestic demand.
According to the available indicators, economic growth in the first half of 2016 was carried by the growing rates of export and final consumption with a negligible contribution of investments. Thereby, given the significant decrease in export and import prices, the foreign trade deficit stagnated (and perhaps even increased) despite the nominal reduction of 2.1 percent in the first half of the year.
