Sarajevo City Hall was visited by more than 100,000 tourists since the opening, and the most of the tourists were from Turkey and neighboring countries.
“City Hall became an inevitable destination for all tourists who come to visit Sarajevo, from all over the world,” said coordinator of works on the building of City Hall Admir Dedovic, adding that the employees of the City Hall will try to continue with positive performance in the future.
“We are satisfied with the work of the City Hall. I’m referring to the visit of tourists, especially throughout the season, as well as organized visits of primary and secondary schools from B&H and, of course, the successful organization of different events,” said Dedovic.
All of this, he says, contributed to the successful operations of the City Hall and the achievement of the objectives that were set for 2015.
Two exhibitions are set up at the moment: “Sarajevo-Wolfsburg, two cities and one friendship” and “20 years later – State of the Union: Photographic journey through the post-Dayton B&H.”
The City Hall, which is a symbol of Sarajevo and B&H, 22 years after it was burned down, was reopened in May last year. The opening ceremony of reconstructed City Hall was attended by hundreds of high officials, representatives of political, religious, public, cultural and artistic life of B&H, as well as many representatives and members of the diplomatic corps.
It was burned down during the bombing in August 1992, when about two million books was destroyed, and its renovation cost 16 million EUR.
