Sports Fishing Competition Mostar hms.baThe first International Sports Fishing Competition called fly fishing will be held in Blagaj from Friday, September 11th, until Sunday, September 13th this year.

The City of Mostar and the Association of fishermen “Neretva 1933” Mostar will host such a competition for the first time, and the ceremony will be attended by the Mayor Ljubo Beslic as well.

Nikola Puce, the president of the Organization Committee of the Sports-Fishing Federation of B&H, said that this is a specific fishermen’s competition.

“Our fishermen do not implement this method of fishing. It is about fly fishing, which represents one fly on the hook, and those hooks do not have the return hook. That is why it is a great skill to get the fish out of the water”, Puce said.

The condition for all interested participants is that the caught fish cannot be smaller than 20 centimeters, and each caught fish will have to be returned to the water.

“Each caught fish must be returned to the water. In case the fish dies on the hook or by the contestant’s mistake, the contestant will be disqualified”, Puce explained.
