Movie-Like Scenes at Belgrade Airport: Woman evades Security and reaches Plane without a Ticket or Documents

A surveillance camera video from Belgrade’s “Nikola Tesla” airport has surfaced on social media, showing a woman skillfully bypassing electronic gates and security by crawling on the floor.

According to Serbian media, the woman, a Serbian national, attempted to board a Wizz Air flight to Malta without a ticket or travel documents. Although she managed to reach the plane, airline staff noticed she didn’t have a ticket, prompting them to call security.

The Directorate of Civil Aviation and airport management have yet to officially comment on the incident. It is known that the woman exploited a moment of inattention when the electronic gates were not being monitored. Serbia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that a misdemeanor complaint has been filed against her, while the Civil Aviation Authority has launched an investigation.

Unofficial sources indicate that the woman was taken into custody and sent for observation at a psychiatric facility but was soon released.

The incident has highlighted weaknesses in the airport’s security protocols, including deficiencies in the electronic gate (e-gate) system, which was inaugurated on December 20th last year but was bypassed within just three weeks.

In response to claims that employees of “Menzies Aviation” were involved in the incident, the company issued a denial. They stated that their staff had no contact with the person in the video and were not responsible for the airport’s security system.

“False claims that mislead the public and tarnish the reputation of Menzies Aviation were published without prior verification with our services,” the statement emphasized, demanding that the inaccurate information be removed or a correction issued, Klix.ba writes.
