sarajevoTender for contractor on Ninth transversal, which will connect Dzemala Bijedica Street and Safeta Zajke Street, is published. The contractor will be known after the procedure.

Mayor of the Municipality of Novi Grad, Semir Efendic, said that the first phase of construction will cost about one million BAM. Project is co-financed by the Directorate in the amount of 550,000 BAM and the Municipality of Novi Grad with 350,000 BAM from this year’s budget.

“It is an activity that is taking place on one side of the Ninth transversal, and on the other side, at the junction with Safeta Zajke Street, we made the decision on the removal of temporary facilities that have been placed there. Currently, conversations with the owners of these objects are taking place in order to perform the removal in the best way possible, and in order for those who have certain jobs in these facilities, primarily small commercial companies, to have time to organize their work in some other place,” explained Efendic.

Mayor of the Municipality of Novi Grad explained that the Ninth transversal has already been built to some extent, but that the problem is crossing the railway which is why it was proposed to construct a roundabout in the settlement Boljakov potok.

Ninth transversal, according to Efendic, will cost about 10 million BAM due to the construction of the bridge, and dynamics of works will depend on the available funds.

Ninth traversal is one of the most important projects of the Municipality of Novi Grad. It will connect two parts of the municipality and will allow traffic communication for 40,000 citizens from Boljakov potok with the rest of the city.
