The national day of Qatar was held in BiH’s capital Sarajevo, emphasizing that Qatari foreign policy is based on the peace, stability of cooperation and friendship between peoples and countries of the world.

“Accordingly, Qatar has always emphasized that the settlement of disputes should be proceeded peacefully, on the basis of a dialogue between the parties to the conflict and this is confirmed through its active mediation in resolving disputes at the regional and world level,” the Qatari ambassador to BiH Sultan Bin Ali Al – Khater said at the celebration.

Regarding the relation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar, Ambassador said that “our relations are strong friendly and fraternal, and as such, they connect us from its independence until today”.

“I want to congratulate BiH’s authorities on the success of the general elections that were held last October with a desire for quick implementation of the results and forming legislative and executive government in order to improve the situation in the country,” Al-Khater added.

He emphasized that the State of Qatar is striving to increase the volume and quality of economic cooperation with BiH.

In addition, Ambassador stated that they will jointly work on the ease of arrival of Qatari citizens, as well as on enabling them to own property in BiH according to the reciprocity system.

Also, H.E. spoke on the increase of cultural and educational cooperation through the work and implementation of the signed agreements, adding that, in near future, authorities in charge will ‘seek to establish a culture week in both countries to familiarize citizens with cultural heritage’.
