kosExhibition of unique wearable pieces of jewelry from the collection “Where the East meets the West” was opened last night at the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts in Sarajevo, where it will be exhibited for the next four days.

Collection of 50 necklace by art workshops ” Elkana ” from Croatia were exhibited.

At the opening, the author Jasmina Kos said that necklaces were made of 2,000 years old Roman glass that archaeologists have found in recent years in the Mediterranean countries, as well as silver and precious stones.

“We found pieces that are part of this collection in Israel, we discovered the silver which is part of the jewelry in Croatia, and we chose precious stones in India,” said Kos.

The exhibition was previously set in Dubrovnik, Varazdin, Kastel, Split, Porec and Zagreb. After Sarajevo, the final exhibition will be held in Zagreb.

Roman Glass is an ancient glass produced at the time of the Roman Empire, 2,000 years ago. Glass was only available to the rich people in ancient Rome, until the first century BC, when they discovered the technique of blowing glass.

Technological breakthrough enabled mass production, and the peak was recorded at the time of Emperor Augustus, when the glass was used by all social strata in all circumstances of life, from household to fashion.
