The Government and Assembly of the Una-Sana Canton requested an urgent statement from the competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, starting with the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as other competent bodies at the level of the state of BiH and the entities of FBiH, on the allegations that the Armed Forces barracks the BiH force “Adil Bešić” in Bihać is extracting weapons in large quantities in the direction of the Izačić Border Crossing and that these weapons are exported to the Republic of Croatia.
As announced by the People’s European Union (NES), five days ago the Government and Assembly of the Una-Sana Canton sent a worrying letter to all relevant addresses in the country, stating that weapons are being removed from the “Adil Bešić” Armed Forces barracks in Bihać in large quantities in the direction of the Izačić Border Crossing and that these weapons are exported to the Republic of Croatia.
The competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, starting with the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as other competent bodies at the level of the state of BiH and FBiH, from the Una-Sana Canton, have been asked for an urgent statement on this disturbing and alarming information.
However, as they stated, there is no answer, despite the fact that it was stated in the letter that it was sent based on numerous reports from concerned citizens.
Mustafa Ružnić, Prime Minister of the USK, pointed out that the executive and legislative authorities of the USK took very seriously the information about the removal of weapons from the “Adil Bešić” barracks in Bihać.
“Given that weapons are being recovered in large quantities from the mentioned barracks, the citizens indicated that this reminds them of the principle of removing weapons from the barracks in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the early nineties of the last century, and we all know that this was the beginning of a scenario that ended in genocide in Srebrenica and the attempt to exterminate Bosniaks in other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Ružnić stated and added:
“We cannot ignore the fact that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina are under constant attack by secessionist policies and that Bosniaks are openly threatened with a new genocide. If we take into account numerous examples of attacks on the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosniaks, including the most recent case of the brutal beating of minors, returnees to the RS, we cannot remain blind, deaf and dumb to the news about the removal of weapons from Bosnia and Herzegovina under mysterious circumstances. That is why we have asked the state institutions for an explanation as to why such a large amount of weapons is being removed from the barracks and by whose order and under whose control “Adil Bešić” in Bihać and exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, instead of at least those officials who call themselves pro-Bosnian urgently addressing the allegations in our letter, the questions that concern all of us and are certainly a priority at this moment, are still unanswered and those who should speak loud and clear about them are silent. Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Elmedin Konaković these days had fun passing the law on wine, celebrating it as one of the main steps for BiH’s entry into the EU. It is clear that we need regulations and laws harmonized with European ones in all areas, but security and peacekeeping, especially in the current situation and current circumstances, are far on the list of priorities before the aforementioned law. It is even clearer to us that the announcement of the Law on the Wine Market of BiH is of great importance for Dodik’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Staša Košarac, Konaković’s coalition partner who has his own winery, so we have even more reason to doubt that while many other reformist laws of greater interest to the state of BiH are kept in the drawers, it is precisely this one on wine that he considers a priority for adoption, just because of someone’s personal interests.”
This is not the first time, as he stated, “that we are in a situation where those who should stand up to protect the interests of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Bosniaks who are under constant threats and attacks behave according to the principle of ‘the village burns, and the grandmother combs her hair’, because on other officials of the Troika did not respond to our letter either.”
“However, we are not all ‘intoxicated’ by power and keeping armchairs at all costs, and especially there are no calculations when it comes to security and peacekeeping. Although in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina we are great advocates of preserving peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, taught by painful and tragic experiences with the beginning of the nineties, we in Krajina do not agree to remain silent about the alarming data about the removal of weapons from the ‘Adil Bešić’ barracks in Bihać and we will insist that this issue be fully and completely clarified and we will not agree to the disarmament of Bosniaks while the police in the RS equip themselves with the most modern combat and armored weapons and vehicles,” said Ružnić.
