Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Tuesday that Israel remains committed to the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah but warned that this does not signify the end of the war.
Speaking at the start of a government meeting in the northern border town of Nahariya, Netanyahu cautioned that Hezbollah had seriously violated the agreement on Monday, prompting Israel to retaliate by striking over 20 targets across Lebanon.
“We are currently in a ceasefire, and I emphasize, it is a ceasefire, not the end of the war,” he said.
“Our clear objective is to bring our residents back and repopulate the north of the country. We are enforcing this ceasefire with an iron hand, responding to every violation, whether minor or significant,” the Israeli prime minister stressed.
