The Red Cross of Canton Sarajevo will hand over barracks “Usivak” in Hadzici near Sarajevo for accommodation of migrants and refugees to the Ministry of Security of BiH.

According to the responsible authorities from the Red Cross, their staff is currently cleaning barracks, which served as a warehouse for the Red Cross of the FBiH and Civil Protection.

Handover of this facility to the Ministry of Security of BiH is planned for June 7, after which preparations for the equipment and accommodation of migrants and refugees should start.

The former barracks “Usivak” was allocated for the use of the Red Cross of CS by decision of the Government of the FBiH in October 2005, with about 10 hectares of corresponding land.

This will be a new facility where migrants will be accommodated, besides the Refugee Center in Salakovac, the Asylum Center in Delijas and the Center for Migrants in East Sarajevo.

The issue of the Center for Migrants in the Una-Sana Canton should be solved soon, as announced by the Minister of Security of BiH, Dragan Mektic.
